Talk 1 – Introduction to domestic radiation

This session introduces the sources of domestic radiation, the types of radiation, their effects on our health, how to identify/measure and briefly touch on mitigation options. It will also cover an overview of world-wide trends and discuss standards that are meant to protect us, followed by a demo. Subsequent talks will dive deeper into the various radiation types, and how to protect yourself and family from exposure.
